Six new AIIMS with introductory limit of 1000 beds would begin working soon in the nation was declared by the Health Minister.

The six new establishments demonstrated on AIIMS are situated in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh and will have restorative and nursing universities, Azad said while tending to a social event Badhsah town here subsequent to establishing the framework stone of an AIIMS Outreach OPD focus.

AIIMS Act 1956 has been altered by order of AIIMS (Amendment) Act, 2012 which has come into power with impact from sixteenth July, 2012. The alteration has brought new AIIMS under the ambit of AIIMS Act 1956 furthermore accommodates foundation of more than one AIIMS at different areas. Each of the new AIIMS is an Institution of National Importance under the Act.

Under the procurements of the AIIMS Act, 1956 and AIIMS (Amd) Act 2013, Institute Bodies for each of the six new AIIMS have been constituted vide Gazette Notification dated, the second of July 2013.

These Committees have been set up for each new AIIMS. At present they are called impromptu Committees pending formal sanction by Institute Body.
