Achievements of ISRO
Would you please provide here detail about the Achievements of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) ? Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the space agency in India . ISRO built India's first satellite which was launched on 19 April in 1975. Milestones achieved by ISRO 1962 Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR) formed 1963 First sounding rocket launched from Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) 1965 Space Science & Technology Centre (SSTC) established in Thumba. 1967 Satellite Telecommunication Earth Station established in Ahmedabad. 1969 Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) formed under Department of Atomic Energy (August 15, 1969). 1972 Space Commission and Department of Space set up 1975 ISRO became a Government Organisation First Indian Satellite – Aryabhata, launched 1975-76 Satellite Instructional Television Experiment (SITE) conducted. 1977 Satellite Telecommunication Experiments Project (STEP) carried out. 1979 Bhaskara-I launched – an experimental satellite for earth observations, launched First Experimental launch of SLV-3 with Rohini Technology Payload 1980 Second Experimental launch of SLV-3, launch of Rohini satellite successful 1981 First developmental launch of SLV-3. RS-D1 placed in orbit APPLE, an experimental geo-stationary communication satellite launched Bhaskara-II launched 1982 INSAT-1A launched 1983 RS-D2 placed in orbit INSAT-1B, launched 1984 Indo-Soviet manned space mission 1987 First developmental launch of ASLV with SROSS-1 satellite – unsuccessful 1988 First operational Indian Remote Sensing Satellite, IRS-1A Second developmental launch of ASLV with SROSS-2 – unsuccessful INSAT-1C launched 1990 INSAT-1D launched 1991 IRS-1B, launched – Second operational Remote Sensing satellite 1992 Third developmental launch of ASLV with SROSS-C – successful INSAT-2A launched 1993 INSAT-2B launched First developmental launch of PSLV with IRS-1E. Satellite launch unsuccessful 1994 Fourth developmental launch of ASLV with SROSS-C2 Second developmental launch of PSLV with IRS-P2 1995 INSAT-2C launched Indian Remote Sensing Satellite, IRS-1C launched 1996 IRS-P3 launched 1997 IRS-1D successfully launched INSAT-2D launched. Satellite failed. ARABSAT-1C acquired and renamed INSAT-2DT in 1998 1999 Last satellite in INSAT-2 series launched Indian Remote Sensing Satellite, IRS-P4 (OCEANSAT) launched by PSLV-C2. Other satellites launched – Korean KITSAT-3 and GermanDLR-TUBSAT 2000 3rd Generation of INSAT seris, INSAT-3B launched 2001 The first developmental launch of GSLV-D1. GSAT-1 launched PSLV-C3,successfully launched three satellites – Technology Experiment Satellite (TES) of ISRO, BIRD of Germany and PROBA of Belgium 2002 INSAT-3C launched by Ariane PSLV-C4, successfully launchedKALPANA-1 satellite from Sriharikota in India 2003 INSAT-3A launched Second developmental launch of GSLV-D2 with GSAT-2 INSAT-3E launched PSLV-C5, successfully launched RESOURCESAT-1 (IRS-P6) 2004 First operational flight of GSLV (GSLV-F01), successfully launched EDUSAT 2005 PSLV-C6 successfully launched CARTOSAT-1 and HAMSAT INSAT-4A launched 2006 Second operational flight of GSLV (GSLV-F02) with INSAT-4C. Satellite could not be placed into orbit. 2007 PSLV-C7 successfully launched four satellites. CARTOSAT-2, Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE-1), and Indonesia’s LAPAN-TUBSAT and Argentina’s PEHUENSAT-1 Successful recovery of SRE-1 INSAT-4B launched PSLV-C8, successfully launched Italian astronomical satellite, AGILE Successful launch of GSLV (GSLV-F04) with INSAT-4CR 2008 PSLV-C10 successfully launched TECSAR satellite PSLV-C9 successfully launched CARTOSAT-2A, IMS-1 and 8 foreign nano satellites PSLV-C11 successfully launched CHANDRAYAAN-1 2009 PSLV-C12 successfully launched RISAT-2 and ANUSAT PSLV-C14 successfully launched Seven Satellites – OCEANSAT-2, FourCUBESAT Satellites, and Two RUBIN-9 2010 GSLV-D3 launched with GSAT-4. Satellite could not be placed in orbit due to failure of Indigenous Cryogenic Stage PSLV-C15 successfully launched Five Satellites – CARTOSAT-2B, ALSAT-2A, two nanosatellites-NLS-6.1 & 6.2, and a pico-satellite- STUDSAT HYLAS (Highly Adaptable Satellite) built by ISRO on a commercial basis in partnership with EADS-Astrium of Europe GSLV-F06 launched with GSAT-5P.
