Can you tell me about the number of seats in MBBS Program in Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune in India? Also tell me about the Eligibility for admission in it?

The Admission to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India The duration of its MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year. AFMC Seats in India Total Number of Seats is 130. 105 seats are for boys and 25 seats are for girls. 10 seats out of 130 are reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled castes/ scheduled tribes. Eligibility for AFMC Admission One seeking admission to the MBBS Course in AFMC is eligible if fulfils the following criteria – • One should be citizen of India. Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian citizenship or in respect of whom the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a certificate of eligibility. • Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted. • One should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence. There will be two categories for age criteria depending on academic qualifications: – 1. 10+2 or equivalent: Should attain the age of 17 years but must not have attained the age of 22 years 2. Passed B.Sc. exam or appearing in Final B.Sc. exam: Must not have attained the age of 24 years. AFMC MBBS Selection Method One need to mandatorily appear for the AIPMT/NEET examination to be conducted by CBSE and should have ticked on the option for AFMC However, if one had failed to tick on the option for AFMC, one still apply online if eligible The AIPMT/NEET roll number is essential for being recognized for admission to AFMC Pune and shall be required at all stages of admission process Candidates who are appearing in the AIPMT/NEET examination will have to register and apply online to AFMC Pune on the website On the declaration of the results, AFMC Pune draws merit from amongst the candidates who have applied to AFMC Pune and also appeared for the AIPMT/NEET examination It is reiterated that the qualifying marks would be 50th percentile Candidates who have secured lesser marks/lower than 50th percentile is not considered for admission to AFMC Pune |
