Joint entrance exam (JEE) is the National Level Engineering Entrance Examination Conducted by CBSE New Delhi, for admission to various government and private engineering colleges of the country. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria : Age Criteria : The Date of birth (DOB) as mentioned in the class 10th certificate will be considered as eligible. In case of general category candidates appearing for JEE Main must be born on or after October 1, 1991 in order to eligible For reserved category candidates i.e. ST/SC/PWD candidates, they must be born on or after October 1, 1986 in order to Qualification : Candidates must have passed or appearing in the class 12th with at least 5 subjects including the compulsory subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates must have scored an aggregate of 50% in the compulsory subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Number of Attempts The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three). No. of Attempts and Age limit for the states of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha Reservation of Seats : Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non Creamy Layer (NCL) Scheduled Castes (SC) Scheduled Tribes (ST) Persons with Disability (PwD)with 40% or more disability Exam Pattern : The JEE Main Examinations will consist of two papers as paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 will be designed for those aspirants who wish to get the admission in engineering study (B.E/ B.Tech) Paper 2 will be designed for those aspirants who wish to get the admission in architecture study (B.Arch/ B.Planning) Duration of exam is 3 hours (180 minutes) The question paper consists of 90 questions. The JEE Main 2016 question paper consists of 90 questions. The maximum marks are 360. There are three parts in the question paper A, B, C consisting of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics having 30 questions in each part of equal weightage. Each question is allotted 4 (four) marks for correct response. |
