Indian Navy is the naval branch of the armed forces of India, under Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

Ages of compulsory retirement of officers of all Branches (except of Medical Branch):-

Admiral - 62 Years or 3 yrs tenure whichever is earlier
Vice Admiral - 60 Years
Rear Admiral - 58 Years
Capt/Cmde - 56 Years (57 Years in the case of officers placed in the select list of promotion to the Rank of Rear Admiral).
Commander (including Cdr (TS)- 54 Years
Lt Cdr & below - 52 Years
