As you want to appear in Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board exam and for preparation asking for its syllabus , so on your demand I am providing same for you :

ARS Preliminary Examination Paper: The Preliminary ARS Examination is a qualifying examination wherein there will be one paper of 150 objective type questions from the respective disciplines opted by the candidate for which 2 hours will be allotted. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 60% marks from General/ OBC category and 50% marks from SC/ ST/ PH category to qualify the exam. Besides this, a total of 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates qualifying in the same will only be allowed to appear in the ARS – Main Examination however the marks scored in the prelims will not be counted for final selection.

ARS Main Examination Paper: The Main paper will have one paper of 240 questions consisting of three sections A, B, and C to be completed in 3 hours duration. While Part A will consist of 40 questions carrying 2 marks each; Part B will have 20 questions of 5 marks each and Part C will have 6 essay type or descriptive type questions of 10 marks each. Part A will require short answers (not exceeding 10 words); Part B will have answers of one or two paragraphs and/or graphic explanation and Paper C will have essay type answers that needs to be completed in the space provided below the question. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 55% marks from General/ OBC category and 50% marks from SC/ ST/ PH category to qualify the exam.

Viva Voce: Candidates need to ensure that they obtain minimum qualifying marks in ARS – Main examination to be called for Viva-Voce for the Agricultural Research Service. The candidates will be called in the ratio 1:5 subject to minimum of 55% obtained by General/ OBC category candidates and 50% marks by SC / ST / PC candidates in ARS Mains Examination (Subjective type). A Board of competent and unbiased experts in the respective disciplines will interview candidates to assess his/her suitability for the Service for which he/she has competed. The viva shall be directed and purposive conversation intended to reveal the candidate’s mental qualities and his/her grasp of problems.
