She teaches early modern history (and theology!) offering modules focusing on the cultural, social and political histories of the early modern world. Her research explores the impact of the Reformation on ‘popular’ culture; Her doctoral research considered the themes of ‘church and childhood’, exploring how early modern societies dealt with the changes in religious culture and the impact these had on perceptions of children. Anna has written various articles and book reviews on topics such as ‘Possession, Puritanism and Prophecy’ and ‘Educational Literature for the Family’, published in both History and Theology journals, and is currently working on a book entitled Spiritual Narratives of Childhood in Early Modern England.
