Anna University (AU), formerly Perarignar Anna University of Technology (PAUT), is a technical university in Tamil Nadu, India which was ranked 6th. ISRO has permitted Anna University to start a separate TV channel by providing equipment.

It has established Tamil Nadu’s first Interactive Satellite Terminal under the Ku Band of EDUSAT and identified as one of the channel partners in the Southern region for EDUSAI Live interactive Audio-Video lecture programmes are transmitted through Ku Band and it helps to conduct free examinations in all its affiliated colleges.

Anna University is a singular authority over all the Engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. There are more than 500 colleges in the state and since they all need a governing authority (that takes care of examinations, certification and other such things) they have been put under the supervision of the University. The association of those colleges with the University ends there.
