Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is an academic institute of national importance as recognised by a 1959 act of the Indian parliament

Established in 1931, this public university of India is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions focused on statistics, and its early reputation led it to being adopted as a model for the first US institute of Statistics set up at the Research Triangle, North Carolina by Gertrude Mary Cox.

Programmes and Eligibility Criteria:


M Tech in Computer Science

Candidates must have passed a Master's degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Science/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology

OR

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE or, GRAD-IETE or, DOEACC ‘B’ Level).


M Tech in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research

Candidates must have studied Physics and Chemistry at Higher Secondary level

Candidates must have studied Mathematics at graduate level

In addition Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent for the engineering stream.

For the statistics stream, candidates must have passed Master's degree in Statistics OR Master's degree in Mathematics with Probability and Statistics as major subjects


Exam Pattern:

The Test consists of two parts:
Part 1:
-This is a compulsory section for all applicants.
-This section consists of a multiple-choice and/or descriptive test in Mathematics at the undergraduate level

Part 2: a multiple-choice and/or descriptive test


For M.Tech (Computer Science)
-There will be five sections. Candidates must answer from any one of the sections
- Questions will be in Computer Science, Engineering and Technology at the B Tech level.

M.Tech (Quality, Reliability and Operations Research):
-Questions will be in many sections with questions from Engineering Mechanics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Thermodynamics, and Engineering Drawing.
-Candidates must answer questions from two or more sections of his/her choice.
