Ashford University reported roughly 450 cutbacks Monday morning. A larger part of the cutbacks were from San Diego, as per a school representative Shari Rodriguez.

San Diego-based Bridgepoint Education Inc. (NYSE: BPI) said Monday that its Ashford University has cut 450 positions, 90 of them at its Denver area.

In a public statement, the organization said Ashford University "killed roughly 450 positions that concentrated exclusively on confirmations" at its areas in San Diego and Denver.

The organization said notwithstanding the occupation cuts, 200 Ashford University affirmations faculty were reassigned to positions inside "another branch of Student Inquiry.

Ashford University was denied accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, sending the organization's stock cost down 33 percent.

Ashford University is certify by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges through the 2014-2015 scholarly year. The organization said it would reapply for accreditation to WASC.
