Abiotic stresses guarantee a noteworthy share of harvest profitability. The research center is effectively occupied with understanding and enhancing stress reaction of plants (particularly, high temperature, saltiness and dry season).

It has recognized a few novel anxiety related proteins (HSPs, SAPs) from rice cultivars utilizing proteomics approach (Plant Molecular Biology 1995, 1998). We have performed examination of a few anxiety related quality families in Arabidopsis and rice utilizing bioinformatics devices (Plant Physiology 2006, 2007, BMC Genomics 2009).

The research center has contributed towards building national quality pools by keeping >1500 push controlled ESTs from first class rice and Brassica species (Functional Integrative Genomics 2009). Some of these qualities (cyclophilin and metallothionein) have turned out to be helpful "hopeful qualities" for raising transgenic trim plants for dry and saline terrains (Molecular Biotechnology 2009, BMC Plant Biology 2012).
