The Government of Assam, Department of School Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) conducts Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) also known as Assam TET.

TET is a compulsory examination for all the B.Ed qualified candidates to be considered for Teacher jobs in schools run by the government and private managements.
BA/B.Sc/ B.Com/BT with B.Ed is the minimum educational qualification to apply for Assam TET

Age Limit:
Candidate’s age should not be above 38 years
Age relaxation is applicable up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates.

Educational Qualification:
Applicants should possess following educational qualification.

Hindi Teacher:
Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks with degree from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T/ B. Ed. degree from any recognized University

Sanskrit Teacher:
Shastri with 50% marks with degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T/ B.Ed degree from any recognized University
