Arizona State University is a public flagship metropolitan research university located on five campuses across the Phoenix, Arizona, metropolitan area, and four regional learning centers throughout Arizona. ASU is the largest public university by enrollment in the U.S. The University was established in 1885. Department of Psychology Doctoral programs: Behavioral Neuroscience- Their program consists of faculty with diverse research interests including: learning and memory (Bimonte-Nelson, Conrad; Sanabria); mathematical modeling of behavior (Sanabria); aging, neurodegenerative diseases, and hormone modulation (Bimonte-Nelson); behavioral and neurobiological consequences of drug abuse and stress (Olive, Conrad, Gipson-Reichardt); feeding behavior (Phillips); stress and brain plasticity (Conrad); timing and time perception (Sanabria); ADHD and impulsivity (Sanabria); and canine cognition and behavior (Wynne). Clinical Psychology- Areas of Specialization: Clinical The Health Psychology Area of Emphasis The Child Clinical Area of Emphasis The Community/Prevention Area of Emphasis Cognitive Science- Psychology's Cognitive Science area investigates core cognitive processes such as cognition, action, perception, and language, while applying multiple theoretical perspectives such as information processing, dynamics, and embodied cognition. Developmental Psychology- The Developmental Psychology Program extends beyond traditional boundaries with areas of emphasis on Bio-behavioral Markers and Genetics; Developmental Psychopathology, Risk, and Resilience; Quantitative Developmental Psychology; and Translational Prevention and Intervention. Quantitative Psychology- The quantitative concentration focuses on the broad class of quantitative and methodological issues that arise in the conduct of both basic and applied psychological research. There are seven core faculty members in the Quantitative Concentration, some of whom are also affiliated with a substantive area.
