NIFT entrance exam is split into 2 phases:

Dates of B.des(NIFT):
Phase – I Paper Based Test (PBT 1)
Date of Test : 08th February, 2015

Last dates of application form of NIFT entrance test for B.des:

10th November 2014 to 10th January 2015
Last Date of Submission of application:
16th January 2015

Candidate will have multiple options for taking the admission test as given below:

For any single programme a candidate may appear for the test on

8th February 2015 (Sunday)
22nd February 2015 (Sunday)
8th February 2015 (Sunday) & 22nd February 2015 (Sunday)
Last date of exam will be gone so better luck next time

Eligibility and criteria of NIFT:
Age: Maximum Age should not exceed 23 years as on October 1, 2015.
For Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently Abled Person (PHP)- The upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates.

CAT paper 1st:

The aim of the test is to investigate the following abilities require to pursue a design course
a. Observation power
b. Innovative ways to depict the subject in drawing
c. Drawing skill


1. Draw a 3‐Dimensional view of drawing room (in one point perspective or two point
perspective) with attractive wall paper (covering the walls), curtains on windows and a
table cloth on a table. Other furniture is not required. Colour the scene.

2. Design any one of the design in detail that you have created for above questions‐ wall
paper, curtains and table cloth.

3. Design front page of a brochure for your college annual day and also badge for all the
volunteers. Both the designs should be colored in approximate 15 cm x 15 cm boxes or
more.

4. Write a promotional article of not more than 100 words on promoting your college
annual day to college students from inside and outside the college.
