Bank of India SLR
Can you please tell me the Statutory liquidity ratio (SLR) of Bank Of India? provide me all the details of Statutory liquidity ratio (SLR) of this bank? Also tell me the toll free number of Bank Of India? The Reserve Bank of India has mandated every bank to have a specific liquid reserve in the form of cash or gold called the Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR). SLR is used by bankers and indicates the minimum percentage of deposits that the bank has to maintain in form of gold, cash or other approved securities. Thus, it is ratio of cash and some other approved liability (deposits). It regulates the credit growth in India. Every bank is required to maintain at the close of business every day, a minimum proportion of their Net Demand and Time Liabilities as liquid assets in the form of cash, gold and un-encumbered approved securities. RBI is empowered to increase this ratio up to 40%. An increase in SLR also restricts the bank's leverage position to pump more money into the economy. Net Demand Liabilities ā Bank accounts from which one can withdraw money at any time like savings accounts and current account Time Liabilities ā Bank accounts where one cannot immediately withdraw money but have to wait for certain period like - Fixed deposit accounts.
