Re: Which is better: Bank or IT JOB?
As you have asked about the better job between Bank and IT job, I would say both are good jobs at their places. But you can consider some points for making you decision Job Security: A bank job is looked upon as a secure job, mostly, you join and you retire from the bank. No financial recession can disturb you. However if you are a good IT professional then it also won’t be a problem for you. Growth Prospects: Growth opportunities in banking sector are immense. Applicants joining as PO or as clerks may have to rough it out in rural areas in the beginning, but they can expect a second promotion and even rise to General Manager (GM) rank by their 15th year and same as the case for IT professionals who are good with their work. Emerging Jobs: The road in the future looks clear. Almost 1,000,000 new jobs are expected to be created in all public sector banks combined, by the year 2020. This is also fuelled by the point that almost 40% of the company is still untouched by banks. A bank job will not only ensure a stable future, but a rapid growth for outstanding performers and same is the case for IT, with the go digital campaign, it surely will rise in future. Developing Skills: Since you are continually made to try out different avenues in banking, you develop a set of skills that are typical across all careers. There are very few other career options where you can get all these skills, which makes a bank job even more worthwhile. IT jobs also increase the skill sets of a person. Alternate Career Options: With all the skills stated above, you can always jump to higher paying jobs after spending a few years in a bank job or an IT job. Not only will this help you get a much higher pay hike, but even if you want to start out on your something own, you have most of the skills required. |
