First of all I would like to tell you that Indian Institute of Science does not offer Biotechnology program and here I will get details about the scholarships.

About Scholarship
Students are awarded scholarships from the date of their joining. The value of the scholarship per month for students enrolled in different programs of the institute is given below.

Research Program
Ph D - `.25000/28000
M Tech (Res) - `.12400
M Tech/M Des programs - `.12400
Integrated Ph D programs - `.16000/25000/28000

All the students who join the Institute (except for M.Mgt programme) are eligible for scholarship/ Fellowship from CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/MHRD/AICTE/DAE (NBHM)/ DST as the case may be.

Immediately on joining the Institute the students must send the joining report to the concerned authorities/agencies appropriately for activating their scholarship.

Scholarships from GE/ INFOSYS/ IBM/ HP/ TATA/ PHILIPS/ BELL LAB/ MICROSOFT/Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DietY) are also available for deserving students.

Scholarships are provided for a maximum period of 2 ½ years in the case of M Tech (Res) and 5 years in the case of Ph D candidates.

Students who join the M Tech/ M Des programs are, by default, agree to and assure that they will not leave the course midway.

In case, due to unavoidable reason/situation made to leave the course midway, in such a case, must refund the entire scholarship amount drawn by them before leaving the Institute.

Candidates who receive a salary from their Employers/Sponsors are not eligible for any scholarship.

Candidates admitted to M.MGT are not entitled for Scholarship.
