The Department of Biotechnology, Punjabi University, Patiala was established in 1987 under the aegis of University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Many major research projects have been awarded to the department by various funding agencies like DBT, ICAR, DST, AICTE, DNES and CSIR.

** 12 Seats will be filled through Entrance Test in Bio-technology conducted by JNU, New Delhi.
