The Assam Secondary Education Act, 1961 (Assam Act, XXV of 1961) was passed to accommodate the foundation of a Board of Secondary Education to control, manage and create Secondary Education in the State of Assam.

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), conducts the High School Leaving Examination (HSLC) for the understudies of Class 10. SEBA manages, oversees and builds up the arrangement of Secondary Education (Class 10) in Assam. This year Assam Board Class 10 Exams will be led in the time of February and March 2017.
