Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is one of the largest state-owned steel making company in New Delhi, India.

SAIL was set up as Hindustan Steel Private Limited on January 19, 1954 to manage only one plant.

On January 24, 1973 SAIL was incorporated ith an authorized capital of Rs. 2000 crore.
