CA - Common Proficiency Test (CPT) exam is conducted by the Council of the Institute Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Common Proficiency Test is the first level of Chartered Accountancy examinations in India.

Eligibility
Must have passed the 12th standard examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent for appearing in Common Proficiency Test

Paper pattern:
-The paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
-It is a 200 marks exam.
-Negative marking will exist. 25% marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Subjects to be studied in CPT are as follows:

SESSION – 1 ( Two Sections – Two hours – 100 marks )
Section A : Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 marks )
Section B : Mercantile Laws ( 40 marks )

SESSION – II ( Two Sections – Two hours - 100 marks )
Section C : General Economics ( 50 marks )
Section D : Quantitative Aptitude ( 50 marks )
