Re: Career Options after B.E ETC

Electronics and Communication Engineering is a core branch in the field of
engineering.

ECE branch cover vast areas in the field of engineering. It is not possible for a one
to become an expert in all the fields.

Engineers get hired by companies during campus recruitment or during walk ins
led directly by companies or by consulting firms.

It is quite important for a fresher engineer to get placed during campus
recruitment and cross the first hurdle in the career.

You can opt for higher studies, if don't get placed during campus recruitment.

Even if you get placed, to get noticed for your work as a fresher and get promoted

is tough, because companies hire fresher in large numbers.

So, to give an incremental momentum to your career, it is good to have MS in
Electronics and Communication.

While selecting colleges for Engineering or MS in ECE, look for colleges which
offers highest placement.

Another important feature, while picking a college is the lab facility they offer.
Unlike computer science, which requires only computers and soft wares, ECE
departments need extensive electronics circuits, microprocessor and
communications lab.

Major Industries which offer Jobs for ECE engineers are

Electronics Circuit Design

Signal processing

Wireless Communication

Optical Communication

Analog electronics

Digital electronics

Telecommunications

Control systems

VLSI

Defense

Mobile Companies
