Delhi University Common Admission Test of English DU CATE exam is an entrance exam conducted by Delhi University for admission to its undergraduate level programme, B.A. English .

DU CATE Eligibility Criteria

Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent, from any recognized state/national Board.

You are required to pass the qualifying examination with not less than 60% marks in the subject of English.

General category candidates should have a minimum of 45 % marks in the class XII board examinations (40.5% for OBC candidates)

Children/Widows of eligible Armed Forces personnel (CW) will be given a concession of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirement; these candidates should have scored 40% marks in their class XII board examinations to be eligible for appearing in CATE.

DU CATE Exam pattern

It is divided into two parts:

Paper One:

The part one of DU CATE consists of objective type questions.

No negative marking in the entrance test.

Paper Two:

Only those candidates, who have passed the part one paper are eligible for second part of the entrance test.

The second part consists of only descriptive/subjective type questions.

• Passage
• Meanings
• Idioms etc
