CAT Stands for Common Admission Test.

It is Conducted by the Six IIMs as a National Level Entrance Test in Selecting Students for their Business Administration Program at the Masters level.

CAT Eligibility:

Candidate Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)

Reservation of Seats for CAT :

Reservation of seats for SC Candidates: 15%
Reservation of seats for ST candidates: 7.5%
Reservation of seats for OBC: 27%
Reservation of seats for the person with disabilities: 3%

Application Fee :

For General and NC/OBC Category Candidates Registration Fee is Rs.1600/
For the SC/ST/Person with Disability Application Fee is Rs.800/.

Selection Process:

Selection will be Done purely on the Basis of Marks Secured in Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, Interview.

Release of Official Notification Between 24-27 July 2016
Online Registration for CAT 2016 Between 06- 26 August 2016
Admit Card Download From October 25, 2016, 01:00 pm till exam day
Test Date November 27, 2016
Result Declaration Mid of January 2017


How to Apply?

• Eligible and Interested Candidates can apply for CAT Application Form online through official website.

• Before applying candidates must have a valid email id and mobile number for receiving feedback regarding online registrations.

• On website, www.iimcat.ac.in, press on ‘Register Now’ for creating your user profile.

• Now fill Registration form in the proper manner with all essential details and submit it after completion.

• Within minutes of submitting Registration Form, you will receive a User ID on registered email address.

• Using the system generated User ID and Password; you can login as “Existing User” on website and fill Application Form for CAT 2016.

• Upload your recent photograph and signature and other required documents.

• Select any number of Programmes. Then, select Interview City for interview.

• Now select up to three cities as your choices for taking exam.

• Make the payment of fee.

• Submit form and take the print out of it for future use.
