CAT Exam For MBA

I want to apply for CAT exam for admission in MBA so can you please tell me the eligibility criteria and the dates of the exam?

The Common Admission Test (CAT) exam is a computer based selection test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission in business administration programs.

CAT Eligibility criteria -

Graduate degree from a recognized institution with minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA

Students in the final year of graduation can also apply

Reservation :

Reserved SC applicants:15%
Reserved ST applicants:7.5%
Reserved OBC applicants:27%
People with disabilities:3%

CAT exam Important dates-


Release of Advertisement July 2016 (Sunday)
Online Registration for CAT 06th August to 25th September 2016
Admit Card Download Window 15th October 2016, 1:00 PM till Exam Date
CAT Exam Test Date 29th November 2016 (Sunday)
Results Declaration Second week of January 2017

Exam pattern-


CAT was divided into three sections:

Quantitative Aptitude (QA) having 34 questions

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) with 32 questions

Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) with 34 questions

The total duration for the exam was 180 minutes and had 100 questions.

Syllabus-

CAT English/Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, syllogisms, analogies, antonyms and synonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, idioms, etc.

CAT Maths/Quant Ability: Number systems, geometry, trogonometry, probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages, profit and loss, quadratic and linear equations, etc.

CAT Data Interpretation: Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, tables, graphs (line, area), charts (column, bar, pie), venn diagram, etc.

CAT Logical Reasoning: Clocks, calendars, binary logic, seating arrangement, blood relations, logical sequence, assumption, premise, conclusion, linear and matrix arrangement, etc.
