Set theory CAT 2013 Syllabus of Quantitative Ability The basic and main syllabus of the Quantitative Ability areas of CAT 2013 is as follows: Vedic Maths For quick Multiplication and division squares and cubes of numbers includes square roots, squares of numbers from 31 to 50 and 81 to 100,cube and cube roots. Number system The concept of GCD , HCF, lcm, geometric progression, arithmetic progression and arithmetic mean, geometric mean , harmonic mean, median & mode,BODMAS and number base system Shortcut for finding the GCD of two numbers n1& n2 divisibility Calculate the number of zeroes in an expression The remainder theorem Using negative remainders Remainder theorem base system. 4. Mixture and Alligations 5. Percentages Base/denominator for percentage calculations Concept of percentage change Calculating percentage values of Percentage rule through additions Percent change effect in the numerator on a ratios value Fraction to percentage conversion table. 6. Set theory CAT 2013 Syllabus of Data Interpretation The Data Interpretation part will include questions on the following topics: Tables Simple Bar Chart Stacked Bar Chart Composite Bar Chart The Use of Bar Chart to Show Deviations Percentage Presentation on a Stacked Bar Chart 3. X-Y Charts The Typical Data shown on an x-y Chart involves a Time Series 4. Pie Charts The Data Interpretation part of the Section 1 of CAT 2013 will include approximately 10 questions. Considering the past few years trend, the questions are high on calculations and are calculation intensive and the difficulty level is on the other side. The majority of the questions are based on caselets and graphs combination. CAT 2013 Syllabus for Verbal Ability The verbal Ability questions will on the following topics: Sentence Correction Para Jumble Para Completion Fact Inference Judgment Word Usage (Vocabulary) Fill in the blanks Grammar and Reading comprehension antonyms and synonyms Section 2 which includes Verbal Ability as a sub section of CAT 2013 will include 20 questions. The questions will be divided into two portions related to, Reading Comprehension (RC) and English Usage (EU). There will be 3 Reading Comprehension passages followed by 4 to 5 questions each. The length of the RC passages will vary from 250 to 300 words. CAT 2013 Syllabus for Logical Reasoning Logical Reasoning will have questions in the CAT 2013 exam.
