The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test held in India. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for their business administration programs.

Important Date for CAT 2016 (Tentative)

• Online Application Form Starts: August to September 2016

• Admit Card download window: October till Exam date

• Exam Date: November 2016

CAT Eligibility Criteria
Before filling the online application form the candidates must have ensure the eligibility criteria as following:
• One must have passed the graduation degree in any stream.
• One must have secured the marks at least 50% or equivalent to CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST and Differently Abled).
• One appearing graduation can also apply for the CAT but they must clear the graduation in same year with given qualifying criteria.

Admission Procedure
The admission is done on the basis of personal score in CAT and the written ability test, group discussion and personal interview.

In short listing and ranking the candidates the institution may consider the academic background, academic performance, working background and other similar inputs of the candidates.

Exam Pattern
The duration of the single paper CAT exam will be of 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The paper will comprise in 100 question basis on the quantitative ability & data interpretation and verbal ability and logical reasoning.
The examination will be held online only.
Each correct answer will be rewarded with 3 marks, each incorrect answer will be punished with 1 mark deduction and no mark is provided to questions that are not answered.
