CDAC Exam in December

Hi I am interested in having the information about the CDAC CAT as wll as the details of the courses offered at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Hyderabad?

CDAC CAT is a Common admission test which invites candidates to apply for various post graduate diploma courses that are two high year end courses in Information and Communication Technology and allied disciplines. CDAC is a well known premier research establishment that is affiliated with the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Government of India.

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Hyderabad has invited applications for admission to following PG Diploma Courses (full-time 6-month courses) commencing from February 2017.

Announcement of C-CAT Ranks: 29th December 2016
Online Selection of Courses & Centres (1st Counselling): 29 December 2016 to 04th January 2017
Declaration of First Round of Seat Allocation: 06th January 2017
Last Date of Payment of Rs 10,000/- for candidates allocated seats through the first round: 13th January 2017
Declaration of Second Round of Seat Allocation: 18th January 2017
Online Selection of Courses & Centres (2nd Counselling): 18th - 24th January 2017
Last Date of Payment of Rs 10,000/- for candidates allocated second round: 24th January 2017
Declaration of Third Round of Seat Allocation (based on 2nd Counselling): 30th January 2017

C-DAC announces admission to the following career-oriented 24-week’s full time Post Graduate Diploma Courses in ICT for Graduate in Engineering/MCA or equivalent
Category I (Section A in C-CAT):
PG Diploma in Geoinformatics (PG-Dgi)
Category II (Sections A+B in C-CAT):
PG Diploma in Advanced Computing (PG-DAC)
PG Diploma in Mobile Computing (PG-DCM)
PG Diploma in System Software Development (PG-DSSD)
PG Diploma in IT Infrastructure, Systems & Security (PG-DITISS)
PG Diploma in Big Data Analytics (PG-DBDA)
Category III (Sections A+B+C in C-CAT):
PG Diploma in Embedded Systems Design (PG-DESD)
PG Diploma in VLSI Design (PG-DVLSI)
PG Diploma in Automation & SCADA Systems (PG-DASS)
PG Diploma in Biomedical Instrumentation & Health Informatics (PG-DBIHI)

Eligibility Criteria

For Common Eligibility Criteria for all the PG Diploma Courses of C-DAC:

Graduate in Engineering or equivalent (e.g. BE/B.Tech/4-year B.Sc Engg/AMIE/DoEACC ‘B’ Level, etc.) in IT/Computer Science/Electronics/Telecommunications/Electrical/Instrumentation or related areas (Or);

Post Graduate Degree in Engineering Sciences (e.g. M.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, etc)

There is no age restriction for admission to C-DAC’s PG Diploma courses.

Candidates who have appeared/will be appearing for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2016 will also be considered for admission to the above courses

By qualifying in C-DAC's admission tests of December 2016, such candidates can apply for provisional admission in February 2017 batch, subject to the condition that:
(a) All parts of their qualifying degree examination shall be completed by the date of joining the course, and
(b) Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with at least the required minimum marks shall be submitted at C-DAC by 31st May 2017

C-DAC Exam Pattern

Admissions to all PG Diploma courses of C-DAC are done through C-DAC's computerised Common Admission Test (C-CAT)
Every year, C-CAT is usually conducted in June (for August admissions) and December (for February admissions). Candidates who clear the December 2016 C-CAT will only be considered for admission to C-DAC’s PG Diploma courses of February 2017 batch on the basis of their C-CAT ranks and centre/course preferences

C-CAT Test Papers
C-CAT has three sections (Section A, Section B, Section C) of one hour duration each. As shown in Table 6, depending on the category of courses selected by the candidate, he/she will have to either appear for just one test paper (Section A) or two test papers (Section A and Section B) or all the three test papers (Section A, Section B and Section C)
The medium of C-CAT is English
