Cdsl And Nsdl Difference
Do you know difference between the CDSL and NSDL if you know please give me information about it and also please tell me from which website I can get more details about it please tell me about this and also tell me about its official website. I am final year student and making project report on topic National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL). Will you tell what the difference between National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) and CDSL? The National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) and the Central Depository Services India Ltd (CDSL) are both share depositories in India. Difference between the NSDL and CDSL The difference is that NSDL was promoted by some giant institutions including the likes of IDBI Bank, UTI, NSE and some other institutions, while the CDSL was also promoted by some solid institutions including the likes of Bombay Stock Exchange, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, HDFC Bank etc. NSDL operates in the NSE. Conversely, CDSL operates in BSE. The other difference between NSDL and CDSL is the former began operations much before and was the pioneer depository in the country. The CDSL was established much after that. So, that essentially is another difference the timing of the opening. Roles: The main role and the different functions of a depository are as follows: Maintenance of individual investors beneficial holdings in an electronic form Dematerialization and re-materialization of securities Account transfer for settlement of trades in electronic shares Allotments in the electronic form in case of initial public offerings Distribution of non-cash corporate actions Facility for freezing/locking of investor accounts Facility for pledge and hypothecation of securities Last edited by Neelurk; February 10th, 2020 at 01:47 PM. |

Re: Cdsl And Nsdl Difference
NSDL stands for national securities dipository and CDSL stands for central dipository securities limited. Both depository hold different types of securities of electronic form. A dipository participant is same as agent which opens accounts of investors. Both NSDL & CDSL are similar to each other only their charges are different. Charges are very small differences in NDSL & CDSL. |
