The Staff Selection Commission conducts various examinations to select the deserving candidates for various vacant seats.

SSC conducts the most popular examination named CGL – Combined Graduate Level exam in the month of August.

The SSC CGL exam is conducted in two parts. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is conducted on August 27 this year.

The number of questions have been reduced to 100 for the Tier 1 examinations from 200.

Last date for receipt of application (Part I): 21st March 2016
Last date for application (Part II): 24th March 2016

Starting Date of registration procedure 13th February 2016
Last Date of registration Part I 14th March 2016 extended to 21st March 2016

Examination Date (SSC CGL 2016 Tier-I) From 27th August 2016

Exam Pattern:

Tire 1 Exam Pattern : The exam will consist of the following four sections:

General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 questions)
General Awareness (25 questions)
Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions)
English Comprehension (25 questions)
This year, the commission has introduced a Descriptive Paper of English/Hindi as Tier – III. The
candidates will have the option to choose any one medium
