Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) was visualized in 1961 as one of the cutting edge combat hardware research labs under the Department of Defense Research and Development.

TBRL visualize independence in the improvement of advances identified with warheads and give best in class diagnostics offices for appraisal of terminal impacts of deadly implements stores.

The research center turned out to be completely operational in 1967 and was formally initiated in January 1968 by the then Defense Minister. While the principle research center is arranged in Chandigarh, the terminating range, spread over a region of 5000 section of land, is situated at Ramgarh in Haryana, 22 km far from Chandigarh.
