Re: Chemical Properties of HCl
Hello, here I m providing you the details of the Chemical Properties of Hydro Caloric acid as under: About the acid: Hydrochloric acid is a highly corrosive, strong mineral acid with many industrial uses. Chemical reactions: Reaction with Water: Hydrochloric acid when added to water splits into hydrocanium ions and chloride ions. Reaction with Metals: Hydrochloric acid reacts with some metals forming metals chlorides and hydrogen gas Reaction with Silver Nitrate: When hydrochloric acid is added to silver nitrate solution a white precipitate of silver chloride is formed Reaction with Carbonates and Baicarbonates: Hydrochloric acid react with carbonates and hydrogen carbonates to liberate Reaction with Ammonia: Hydrochloric acid neutralizes ammonia forming ammonia chloride. Reaction with Ammonia: Hydrochloric acid neutralizes ammonia forming ammonia chloride. Uses of Hydrochloric Acid It is used for the cleaning of iron sheets during electroplating. It is used in the preparation of aqua regia. It is used in the manufacturing of plastics, dyes, textile, rubber and medicines. It is used as a reagent in laboratory. It is used for the extraction of glue from animal tissue and bones. It is used to clean calcium carbonate deposits from sanitary and floors. |
