Re: CLAT Common Law Admission Test

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam. It is commenced once in a year in the month of May. It is organized for granting admission in Integrated L.L.B and L.L.M courses offered by 18 National Law Universities of India.

For the year 2017, examination is being organized by the Chankya National Law University, Patna. Last year 2016, it was managed by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. CLAT 2017 registration has been started from the 1st January 2017.

Eligibility Criteria

For UG Programmes:

• One has to qualify their 10+2 or equivalent examination with the minimum 45% marks (in case of Unreserved/OBC/SAP categories) and 40% marks (in case of SC/ST category).
• Appearing candidates of Class 10+2 or equivalent exam in March/April 2017 are also eligible to appear in the entrance exam.
• At the time of admission, one would have to produce an evidence of their passing qualifying examination.
• The upper age limit to appear in CLAT 2017 has been removed.

For PG Programmes:
• One must be passed the LL.B or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks (Unreserved/OBC/SAP categories) and 50% marks (SC/ST category).
• One appearing in the qualifying examination is also eligible to appear CLAT.
• One would have to produce the evidence of their qualifying examination at the time of admission.
• There is no upper age limit for PG courses.
