Is CLAT Necessary for Law

Hello sir, I amRanjan Sahu. I am from Kolkata. I want to know that is CLAT necessary to pursue course in Law. What are its eligibility criteria? Also list the participating institutes for CLAT?

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination organized on rotation by the 16 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to their UG and PG programmes, i.e., BA LL.B & LL.M, respectively.

Yes it is necessary to get admission to the national law universities for law.

Eligibility:


Only Indian nationals and NRIs can appear in the test.

Contender should have a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equal certificate from a recognized Board with not less than 45% marks in total

Contenders who are appearing or had appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also qualified to appear in CLAT
