Clinical Research in SRM University
Can anyone please share me the information about the MS Clinical Trials which is a research program for Post Graduate students offered by SRM University, I just wanted to know that the persons who are pursuing their job can join hands into the program or not? The course MS Clinical Trials offered by School of Public Health of SRM University aims to provide students with theoretical and practical understanding in designing, conducting and managing Clinical Trials. The core skills developed are in the areas of Biostatistics, Medical Writing, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Data Management, Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology. Eligibility Criteria Graduates in any one of these disciplines like Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, AYUSH, Allied Medical Sciences and Life Sciences are eligible to apply for the program. Selection Process A selection test will be conducted along with an interview to test one’s aptitude, domain skills, subject knowledge and communication. Admission is based on selection test scores, previous academic records/scores, and relevant work experience (if any). Admission is purely merit based on individual’s performance. Results of the selection test will be intimated to students personally. Fee Structure The total fee structure for the two year program, amounts to Rs. 2,00,000 Fees per year amounts to Rs. 1, 00,000 to be paid as a demand draft drawn in favour of SRMIST payable at Chennai Course Structure Core modules of the course (1st & 2nd Semesters) • Basic Life Sciences • Clinical Pharmacology • Principles and Fundamentals of Clinical Epidemiology • Drug Discovery and Development • Designing of Clinical Trials in Clinical Research • Biostatistics • Practical: Pharma/Biotech, CRO Visit • Pharma Regulatory affairs • Clinical Data Management (CDM) • Clinical Trials-Project Management • Quality Assurance and Quality Control • Ethics in Clinical Trials • Medical Writing • Practical: Pharma/Biotech, CRO Visit Semester 3 • PharmacoVigilance-I • PharmacoVigilance-II • Clinical Trials Economics • Communication Skills • Software Application (SAS, Oracle Clinical, Medra-AER) • Practical: Pharma/Biotech, CRO Visit Semester 4 • Students undergo industry experience in Pharma/Biotech, and CRO industry and submit internship report/dissertation and defend/share the same in the viva-voce.
