the Examination has the Following Sections that are

Tier -I — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Paper Pattern of the SSC CGL Examination

For TIER I

Question paper will be divided into 4 sections – General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.

Each section will have 50 questions making a total of 200 questions overall. Total time duration is 2 hours. And yes, there is negative marking with a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.


For TIER II

There will be three papers viz. Paper I – Quantitative Ability, Paper- II – English Language and Comprehension and Paper – III Statistics.

0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III respectively. Paper- III can be attempted only by the candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr. II & Compiler.
