Re: CPI IP University
The IP University is provides a formula for calculating the Cumulative Performance Index, and determining the passing/failure in a course, and eligibility for award of a degree, the marks obtained in the repeat academic year will be taken into consideration. Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) shall be calculated as in Clause 15 and shall be based only on marks obtained in courses for which credits have been earned. Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) = N å Cn Mn ------ N å C Where Cn is the number of credits earned for the course n in any academic year and Mn is the marks obtained by the student for the course n. N is the total number of courses over which the performance is being measured. All courses shall have maximum marks of 100, irrespective of the number of credits assigned to the courses. A student is awarded a letter grade in each course he/she is registered for, including his/her overall performance in that course. There are nine letter grades: A, B, C, D, E, F, S, X and I. The correspondence between grades and points (on a 10-point scale) / rating is given below:- A: 10, B: 8, C: 6, D: 4, E: 2, F: 0, S: Satisfactory, X: Unsatisfactory, I: Incomplete |
