Admission to Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Banaras Hindu University Institute (BHU) will be done on the basis of AIPMT/NEET Score.

No separate entrance examination will be conducted to provide admissions to 71 MBBS seats and 42 BDS seats in Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU.

The factors for deciding the expected cut off will be:
• Number of questions asked in the exam
• Difficulty level of the exam
• Number of candidate’s appeared in the exam

BHU PMT Eligibility Criteria

One needs to have completed 17 years of age during the time of admission.

One need to have cleared 10+2 under CBSE or Intermediate science or an equivalent course or Board of Indian state with mandatory subjects like physics, chemistry, English, biology.

To be the individuals of Banaras Hindu University general and other special reserved individuals need to pass 10+2/ or related in physics, chemistry, biology and English with minimum 60% and SC/ST with 50%. Once if this process is done then one can go for further process.


BHU PMT Selection Process
In order to get selected one need to get minimum qualifying marks.
The list of passed individuals would be declared based on their merit performance in the examination.
Finally those who pass the entrance exam would be the student of Banaras University.

• General – 42
• OBC – 23
• SC – 13
• ST – 6

Total MBBS Seats in IMS-BHU = 84 seats (total medical seats in IMS BHU)
Dental Course in BHU

BDS Distribution of Seats:
• General – 19
• OBC – 10
• SC – 6
• ST – 3

Total BDS Seats in IMS BHU = 38 seats (total dental seats in BHU)
