Here I am giving you information about important dates for MSc Electronics entrance examination organized by Shivaji university below : Important dates : Issue of forms : April 2014 Last date for forms submission : last week of April 20145 Exam date : 25th may 2014 M.Sc. Electronics 5. Eligibility of the Course: You have to passed B.Sc. degree in respective stream from a well recognized university For admission you have to pass an entrance examination organized by college administration. Syllabus : ELE- 12 Power Electronics Unit 1. AC to DC Converter Revision of single phase converter, power factor improvement, single phase dual converter and series converter, Three phase half converters with resistive and Inductive loads, three phase semiconverter with resistive and inductive load. Three phase full converter with resistive and inductive load. Unit 2. Chopper Introduction, Classification of choppers, Control strategies, stepup and stepdown chopper, Class A, Class B, Class C, and Class D chopper, , current and voltage commutated chopper. Unit 3. Inverters Introduction, Classification of Inverters, Transistorized Inverters, Single phase half bridge and full bridge with resistive and inductive loads, voltage control techniques for single phase inverters, series inverters, parallel inverters, Thyristerised inverters, three phase transistor inverters(120 & 180 conduction). Unit 4. Power conditioners and applications Transient suppression, EMI, RFI, CVI, voltage regulators, tap changing regulators, solid state regulators, UPS (online and offline), reliability of UPS system, Batteries used for UPS and Comparison of UPS system.
