Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences continued and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India Tentative Dates : Opening of online application portal : 10th July 2016 Last date for closing of online application : 16th August 2016 Last date for submitting online application : 23rd August 2016 Exam Date : 6th Nov 2016 Eligibility Criteria : For Stream SA: Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2014-15 and having secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the X Standard Board examination. For Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2014–15 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. for the session 2015–16 provided they have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination and a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII standard Board Examination. For Stream SB: Students enrolled in the 1st year of undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. during the academic year 2014–15 and having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate Exam Structure Subject Part I (Each question is of one mark) Part II (Each question is of two mark) Mathematics 20 questions – 1mark each 10 questions -2 marks each Physics 20 questions – 1mark each 10 questions -2 marks each Chemistry 20 questions – 1mark each 10 questions -2 marks each Biology 20 questions – 1mark each 10 questions -2 marks each The Duration of test is 3 hours. The exam is multiple choice questions based for 100 marks. The paper has two parts, Part I consisting of four sections (each containing 20 questions) and four sections in Part II (each containing 10 questions). The answer paper is an OMR sheet. All the answers are to be marked in the given sheet itself. One correct answer among the four given choices is to be marked. There is negative marking for wrong answers. Unanswered questions will not be evaluated and will not be penalized as a wrong answer. |
