Danish Centre for Environment and Energy DCE is Aarhus University’s central unit for knowledge exchange within the areas of nature, environment, climate and energy. DCE delivers science-based advice and solutions that help greening of the economy and promote sustainable growth at both local, national and international scale. Among their customers are the Danish Ministry of the Environment and Food, the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate, Greenland's Government, the Danish municipalities, private businesses and the European Commission. Departments Research in Nature and Environment At the Department of Bioscience, research is organised in 18 sections. The sections are smaller academic units which are based at the work locations - in Aarhus, Roskilde, Kalø and Silkeborg (websites mainly only available in Danish for now): Applied Marine Ecology and Modelling Aquatic Biology Arctic Ecosystem Ecology Arctic Environment Biodiversity and Conservation Catchment Science and Environmental Management Ecoinformatics and Biodiversity Genetics, Ecology and Evolution Lake Ecology Marine Diversity and Experimental Ecology Marine Ecology Marine Mammal Research Microbiology Plant and Insect Ecology Soil Fauna Ecology and Ecotoxicology Stream and Wetland Ecology Wildlife Ecology Zoophysiology At the Department of Environmental Science research is organised in 5 sections, all based at AU Roskilde: Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology (MITO). Head of section: Pia Lassen Emission modeling and environmental geography (EMMI). Head of section: Pia Frederiksen Environmental social science (SAMI). Head of section: Berit Hasler Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology (EMBI) Head of section: Ulrich Bay Gosewinkel Atmospheric modeling (ATMO) Head of section: Jørgen Brandt Atmospheric chemistry and physics (ATCP) Divided into Atmospheric Processes (ATPRO) with head of section Ole Hertel, and Atmospheric Air Quality(ATAIR) with head of section Thomas Ellermann.
