The Defense Language Institute (DLI) is a United States Department of
Defense (DoD) educational and research institution,

The two primary entities of the Defense Language Institute (DLI) are the
Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) and the
Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC).

Military organizations with military language professionals assigned are
required to appoint a Command Language Program Manager (CLPM) who is
tasked with assisting military linguist personnel in maintaining their language
capabilities.
