The Department of Chemistry, IIT-BHU, already known as Department of Applied Chemistry (Institute of Technology), was set up in the time of 1985. Prior this Department was working as a Section in the School of Basic Sciences in Banaras Hindu University-Varanasi.

This Department as of now constitutes 16 employees including 10 Professors, 1 Institute teacher, 2 Associate Professors and 3 Assistant Professors. The prime obligation of the office is to sort out the instructing of science courses in different B.Tech and incorporated M.Tech programs.

About M.Tech Program

Coordinated M.Tech in Industrial Chemistry (IMD) is a five year course offered by the Department of Chemistry, IIT BHU-Varanasi. Right now more than 50 understudies are seeking after their M.Tech degree in this division. The most extreme admission for this program is 20 understudies for every year through IIT-JEE selection tests.
