The Department of Education of University of Jammu, J & K was established in 1973. The distinguishing feature of Department is that DRS-I has been granted to it under Special Assistance Programme (SAP) by the UGC in the year 2011-12 for the Period of 2011 - 2016.

The Department has a rich library of over 10,000/- books, which includes text books & reference books. It also subscribed few national and international journals viz. University News, & American Journal of Education etc.

Besides, it has of a long list of psychological Tests tools, which are employed by the students for conducting the researches which is mandatory in both of degree programmes.
