Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) performs various examinations for the group 4 vacancies.

TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility Criteria:

You must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification, Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of studies.

Technical Qualification:

For Typist:
Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English
For Steno-Typist, Grade III:

Must have passed the Government Technical Examination both in Typewriting and in Shorthand:-
(i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)
(ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English (or)

Computer Qualification (for Typist and Steno-Typist, Grade III):

Applicants should have passed the “Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation” awarded by the Technical Education Department.

Selection procedure:

Selection of the applicants will be made on the basis of the written exam.

The TNPSC written examination has been conducted by TNPSC consists of single paper.
This exam constitute of General Knowledge (S.S.L.C Standard) & General Tamil / General English (S.S.L.C. Standard).
The mode of written exam is of objective type contains 200 questions carries (150+150) 300 marks, 3 hours is the time duration for the examination.
The minimum qualifying marks for selection is 90.
