Professor Pradipta Banerji

Professor Pradipta Banerji has been Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee since October 2011.

He concurrently holds the posts of Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay and at IIT Roorkee.

He was awarded the National Science Talent Scholarship in 1976.

He was graduated with a BTech degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1981.

He completed his MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982 and 1987, respectively.

He has spent more than 23 years at IIT Bombay.

During his term as Director, more than 150 faculty members have joined the institute.
