Can you tell me about the eligibility requirement and number of seats for DM - Critical Care Medicine program as offered by All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi?

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous public medical colleges of higher education which have been declared by Act of Parliament as institutions of national importance.

M.D. in Anaesthesiology / Medicine / Chest Medicine of this Institute or any other University recognized by the MCI

Age Limit:
• Upper Age limit is 35 years as on 1st July, 2016.
• Upper age limit is relaxable for OBC Candidates by a maximum of 3 years.
• Upper age limit is relaxable in case of SC/ST candidates by a maximum of 5 years.
• The upper age limit is not applicable to sponsored candidates.

Method of Selection
Selections for D.M courses are made through 2-Stage Performance Evaluation basis:

Stage I: Written test carrying 80 marks of 90 minutes duration in the subject the candidate has applied for.
The question paper consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Each wrong (MCQ) answer will be awarded one-third (-1/3) negative mark.
More than one answer will be treated as wrong answer and awarded negative mark.
Zero mark will be given for questions not answered.

• Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark.
• Each incorrect response will get a score of - 1⁄3 (minus-one-third).
• No credit will be given for the questions not answered or marked for review.

Stage II:
Out of the candidates who are 50th percentile or above in the written test (Stage-I), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised are called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks).

Final Selection: Final result is declared based on total marks obtained in stage-1 and Stage-II Examination.

Selected candidates are required to join on 01/07/2016 or before 15/07/2016.

The last date of joining of selected candidates shall be 15th July, 2016.

In case of failure to join course by 15th July, 2016, the offer is given to wait listed candidate.

No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

III) The Last Date for joining the DM Fellowship Programme will be 31st July, 2016.

No candidate, in any circumstances, is allowed to join after 31st July, 2016.
