The Institute of Open and Distance Education of Dr. C V Raman University was set up in Feb, 2009 and recognized by the Distance Education Council on 1st May, 2009.

It operates through multiple departments of CVRU. Each department is headed by a coordinator, who helps plan and develop academic courses with regular faculties, visiting professors, banks and other corporate offices.

Dr. C.V. Raman University is recognized under Section 2(f), of the UGC Act and its other recognitions include, AICTE, NCTE and DEC. It is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities) and is the first University in the state of Chhattisgarh to be awarded an ISO:9001-2008 Certification. It is also recognized by BCI.

As per my knowledge, Institute of Open and Distance Education of Dr. C V Raman University does not offer BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) program. The programs it offers are as follows:
