Trishul is a short range surface-to-air missile developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation DRDO as a part of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program. The Trishul missile project was commissioned in 1983. The project was to be completed by 1992 and the missile would be fitted to Brahmaputra-class frigates as an anti-sea skimmer It can also be used as an anti-sea skimmer from a ship against low flying attacking missiles.
