Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) is a coal maker situated in India. The organization was established in 1975 after nationalization of coal mines in India.

It acquired all the private part coal mines of the Raniganj coalfield. It is one of the eight completely possessed auxiliaries of Coal India Limited.

The organization has its base camp at Sanctoria, Asansol, in West Bengal.

At present it claims 105 working mines, of which 81 are underground and 24 are opencast mines. The larger part of its mines are in West Bengal, with some in the territory of Jharkhand.

Actual off-take of coal in 2015-16 was 38.607 million tonne against the demand of 42.130 million tonne i.e. demand satisfaction of 92%.
